My 4 yr old granddaughter is a Wizard of Oz aficionado and therefore we have bought all the costume and it has cost a pretty penny added up altogether. BUT she dances and sings and wears it while she watches the movie, and when we ride in the car we listen to the Oz soundtrack CD and she goes over and dances and sings for her Great Grandmother, so though I've spent clost to 100.00 on Oz costuming, movie, book, shoes, toto in basket cd, etc, it has been worth it for the smiles it gives us all really, though still a big dollar sign that goes off in my head:)
The dress scared me at first as it was rough material cottonish, and the shirt still is much smaller than the dress, I pinned up the straps with safety pins in the back, and cut the cuffs of the shirt so it fit her arms without being too tight and she is a tiny thin girl. I plan to cut the shirt up the back and put velcro as it is too hard to get over her head and too tight. But she loves it. I washed it on Delicate 2x already and it is holding up. I let it hang dry to save it the wear and tear of heat/drying.
I bought the small 4-6 size and find the blouse is a 3T approx and the Dress is a 7 or more but the waist is small, so kind of funky sizing really. Maybe could pay someone to sew one for the same 33.00 it costs to buy and ship it. Walmart has the Gingham in ! We bought Toto's blanket gingham for the toy basket there.
